Taryn is a fabulous swim instructor, teacher and coach. She is stern (she will set expectations and boundaries and uphold those with the student) but kind, gentle and always positive. Taryn has a welcoming personality which immediately creates a bond, as she has developed with my daughter. Taryn provides verbal examples and advice, as well as physical examples, using the child to demonstrate out of the pool and in the pool so the student can feel the body movements, she demonstrates inside and outside the pool with her own body, and she has other students, more advanced, demonstrate while she comments to the student on what to look at and what was working or not working. She patiently instructs on specific skills and techniques, and each time the student tries something, Taryn gives positive and constructive feed back; she is willing to let the student try again and again before moving onto a different skill. Taryn also has a sense of humor, which fits in with younger students, like my daughter, so that the student doesn't get frustrated or feel like s/he has failed. My daughter loves lessons and her swim team with Taryn as her teacher and coach. Taryn's guidance and passion towards her students and swimming as a sport is clearly apparent. My daughter would not have improved so vastly without Taryn. I highly recommend Taryn for swim lessons!
